CECES Hong Kong – Building a Better Future for Children Since 1982
The Hong Kong Council of Early Childhood Education and Services is one of Hong Kong’s longest-serving charitable organizations dedicated to children, families, early childhood development, and community education. Founded in 1982 as a registered non-profit charitable organization, CECES has spent more than four decades supporting children through educational programs, family services, teacher training, community engagement, and cross-cultural initiatives. Its mission is founded on the belief that every child possesses unique talents and potential that deserve opportunities to flourish regardless of social, cultural, or economic background.
Over the years, CECES has developed a comprehensive approach that extends beyond traditional classroom education. The organization promotes experiential learning, creativity, cultural understanding, healthy living, environmental awareness, and social responsibility. Through partnerships with schools, families, educators, community organizations, and government agencies, CECES has positively impacted hundreds of thousands of children and families across Hong Kong.
CECES believes that education is not only about academic achievement but about nurturing the whole child. Its programs encourage emotional development, confidence, creativity, empathy, leadership, and intercultural understanding. Special attention is given to children from disadvantaged and low-income families, ensuring that opportunities for personal growth remain accessible to all.
Nurture Our Future
The flagship long-term initiative of CECES is “Nurture Our Future”, a movement dedicated to creating safer, healthier, and more supportive environments for children and young people. The initiative reflects CECES’s belief that the future of society depends on the well-being, protection, education, and emotional development of today’s children.
Nurture Our Future brings together educators, parents, schools, community leaders, government stakeholders, and international partners to promote positive childhood development and strengthen support systems around children. The initiative seeks to foster a culture where every child can grow with dignity, confidence, safety, and hope.
The program focuses on several key pillars:
- Supporting healthy childhood development and emotional well-being.
- Strengthening family relationships and parental engagement.
- Promoting inclusive educational opportunities.
- Encouraging cultural understanding and social harmony.
- Building safe and nurturing environments for children and youth.
- Developing future generations of responsible global citizens.
- Creating partnerships between schools, communities, businesses, and charitable organizations.
- Inspiring children to discover their talents, creativity, and purpose.
Through educational activities, community projects, leadership programs, cultural exchanges, family initiatives, and public awareness campaigns, Nurture Our Future aims to create a lasting positive impact that extends across generations. Rather than focusing solely on current challenges, the initiative emphasizes long-term investment in children as the foundation for stronger families, healthier communities, and a more compassionate society.
East–West Partnership for Future Generations
In 2026, CECES entered into a long-term strategic partnership with the 1SIGN Foundation and Lidová konzervatoř a Múzická škola Ostrava, one of the oldest cultural and educational institutions in Central Europe. This partnership creates a bridge between East and West through children, families, education, culture, and youth development.
Together, the organizations are developing a long-term program for 2026–2029 that includes the One World Family Summit, educational exchanges, cultural cooperation, children’s art initiatives such as 200 Hearts, family-focused programs, and projects that encourage understanding between different cultures and generations.
By connecting more than 40 years of CECES experience in Hong Kong with nearly 70 years of educational and cultural heritage in Europe, the partnership demonstrates a shared belief that investing in children today is the most meaningful investment society can make for tomorrow.
