LKMŠ OSTRAVA – A EUROPEAN HOME OF CREATIVITY, TALENT, AND HUMAN CONNECTION

For nearly seven decades, Lidová konzervatoř a Múzická škola Ostrava has represented one of the most unique artistic education institutions in Central Europe. Established in 1957 and founded by the City of Ostrava, the institution has become a living cultural ecosystem where children, young people, adults, seniors, and individuals with special needs discover the power of creativity, artistic expression, and human connection. Today, the school operates across four locations, offers 57 artistic disciplines, and is supported by 88 professional educators and artists.

LKMÅ  is much more than a school. It is a place where generations meet, where talent is nurtured regardless of age, social background, or previous experience, and where art becomes a language capable of connecting people across cultures, countries, and generations. Through music, visual arts, theatre, photography, dance, literature, and artistic therapies, students learn not only artistic skills but also empathy, confidence, cooperation, and respect for diversity.

A particularly inspiring part of the institution is the MCUT Skořápka, opened in 2021 as a pioneering center dedicated to artistic therapies and inclusive education. Here, creativity serves as a bridge between art and well-being, demonstrating how artistic expression can strengthen mental health, social inclusion, and personal development.

As an official partner of the One World Family movement, LKMŠ Ostrava represents the European pillar of a growing East–West collaboration connecting children, families, schools, artists, and communities across Europe and Asia. Together with CECES Hong Kong and the 1SIGN Foundation, the institution contributes to a long-term vision focused on strengthening family values, cultural understanding, youth development, education, and intergenerational cooperation.

Within the One World Family Summit 2026, LKMŠ Ostrava stands as a symbol of how education and culture can create meaningful change in society. The institution demonstrates that art is not merely a form of expression—it is a tool for building stronger communities, nurturing emotional resilience, and helping young people discover their identity and purpose in a rapidly changing world.

The participation of LKMÅ  in projects such as 200 Hearts, Children Without Borders, and the One World Family Summit reflects a shared belief that children should remain at the center of our collective efforts. Their dreams, creativity, and vision for the future deserve support, protection, and opportunities to flourish.

In an era marked by social fragmentation, digital isolation, and growing uncertainty, LKMÅ  Ostrava reminds us that genuine human connection still begins with creativity, education, compassion, and community. It is a place where art becomes a force for understanding, where generations inspire one another, and where the future is shaped not only by knowledge, but by humanity itself.

LKMŠ Ostrava – Educating Through Art. Connecting Through Humanity. Inspiring Future Generations.

LKMÅ  OSTRAVA AND THE EUROPEAN CHILDREN'S PAINTING FOR ONE WORLD FAMILY HONG KONG

As part of the international One World Family initiative, more than 100 children and young artists from Lidová konzervatoř a Múzická škola Ostrava (LKMŠ) in the Czech Republic came together to create a unique collaborative artwork expressing their vision of home, family, friendship, peace, and the future they wish to inherit.

Over several weeks, children from different artistic disciplines contributed their ideas, emotions, colors, and creativity to a large-format canvas. Each brushstroke represents an individual story, while together they form a powerful message of unity, hope, and understanding across generations and cultures. The painting reflects the authentic voices of European children and their desire for a world built on cooperation, respect, and human connection.

The completed artwork was carefully prepared by the LKMÅ  team in Ostrava and professionally packed for international transport to Hong Kong. The canvas traveled thousands of kilometers from the heart of Europe to Asia, symbolizing a bridge between East and West created through the imagination and creativity of children.

Upon arrival in Hong Kong, the painting was presented to internationally acclaimed artist and humanitarian Professor Dominic Man-Kit Lam, who accepted the role of completing the final artistic gesture on behalf of the children. Through his signature and concluding artistic contribution, Professor Lam transformed the collaborative work into a unique symbol of friendship between European and Asian children, while preserving the original artistic expression created by the young participants.

The final artwork stands as a testament to the belief that children have the power to connect cultures beyond language, geography, and generations. Together with the parallel Hong Kong children’s painting created through CECES, the project forms part of the 200 Hearts initiative, bringing together more than 200 young participants from Europe, Hong Kong, and China in a shared artistic dialogue.

Presented within the framework of the One World Family Summit Hong Kong 2026, the painting serves not only as a work of art but also as a message from children to the world—a reminder that the future begins with understanding, compassion, and the courage to build bridges where others see differences.

Created by the children of Europe. Completed by a master artist. Dedicated to future generations.

LKMŠ OSTRAVA – A EUROPEAN NETWORK OF CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL COOPERATION

LKMŠ OSTRAVA – A EUROPEAN NETWORK OF CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL COOPERATION

For decades, Lidová konzervatoř a Múzická škola Ostrava (LKMŠ) has been more than an educational institution. It has served as a platform for international cultural exchange, artistic collaboration, and educational partnerships across Europe. Through long-standing relationships with institutions, schools, artists, and cultural organizations, LKMŠ has helped connect young people beyond national borders and foster mutual understanding through art and education.

A particularly significant dimension of this cooperation is the institution’s long-term partnership with organizations and educational networks in Italy, Poland, and Slovakia, developed over more than thirty years of cultural and educational exchange. These partnerships have enabled thousands of children, students, teachers, and artists to participate in joint projects, workshops, performances, exhibitions, and international educational programs, creating lasting relationships that continue to strengthen European cooperation today.

Through these international activities, young people gain not only artistic experience but also valuable opportunities to understand different cultures, languages, traditions, and perspectives. Such experiences help build confidence, encourage openness, and prepare future generations to become responsible global citizens while maintaining respect for their own cultural heritage.

Within the framework of the One World Family initiative, LKMŠ brings this extensive European experience into a broader East–West dialogue. Together with partners in Hong Kong, China, and across Europe, the institution contributes to building bridges between communities, educational institutions, families, and future generations.

The cooperation between the Czech Republic, Italy, Poland, and Slovakia demonstrates that meaningful partnerships can endure across decades and continue to create opportunities for children and young people. These relationships serve as a powerful example of how culture and education can unite nations, strengthen communities, and contribute to a more connected and understanding world.

Today, as part of the long-term partnership between LKMŠ Ostrava, CECES Hong Kong, and the 1SIGN Foundation, these European connections form an important foundation for international projects such as the One World Family Summit 2026, the 200 Hearts initiative, cultural exchanges, educational programs, and future collaborations supporting children, families, and communities across Europe and Asia.

From Ostrava to Europe. From Europe to Asia. Connecting generations through education, culture, and shared human values.
